Good intentions don't always translate into fair outcomes or consistent employee experience. This self-assessment helps leadership teams take an honest look at where inclusion efforts are working, where they're just paperwork, and where the real risks and gaps sit.
This self-assessment guides leadership teams through five core areas of inclusion maturity: Leadership & Accountability, Employee Experience & Culture, Decision-Making & Governance, Capability & Confidence, and Strategy/Impact & Sustainability. For each area, leaders score their organisation on a 1–5 scale against clear behavioural statements, then compare results against a scoring guide that flags whether the approach is mature and embedded, has solid foundations with gaps, or needs urgent attention. Informed by Leading Kind's research across organisations of all sizes and sectors, it's best used with multiple leadership team members scoring independently — the differences often reveal as much as the scores themselves.
